Ascendants (Lagna)

The ascendant, or Lagna, is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth. It is the 1st house of the chart and every other house is counted from it. It changes about every two hours, so finding it needs the birth time; it is often different from your Moon sign (rashi).
